Vicki Toliver
President
I started at the United States Postal Service as a city letter carrier on November 19, 1988, in Richmond, California. I worked there until March 1997, as I transferred to the Los Angeles District as a city letter carrier after moving to Los Angeles. After I was unfortunately robbed for the arrow keys, I was given a job offer to work in the clerk craft. While working in the clerk craft, I decided to make the switch permanent. I was a PTF clerk at the time and there was a freeze on hiring full-time career positions; as a result, it took me 10 years to obtain career status with USPS. I have worked in distribution, box section, registry cage, BRM, sales, and passports. As a proud postal worker, I decided to be a union steward in 2004 to help my fellow co-workers. For 19 years, I have served the Greater Los Angeles Area Local 64 APWU as union shop steward, Legislative Director, Executive Vice President, and am currently the President of our wonderful local union. I’ve served and/or have experience in the following areas:
● Spokesperson of Joint Labor Management Committee
● Spokesperson of Safety Committee
● Spokesperson of Negotiating Committee
● APWU Health Plan Representative
● Arbitration Advocate
● District Reasonable Accommodation Committee/Team (DRAC/DRAT)
● Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
● National Reassessment Program (NRP)
● Post Office Women for Equal Rights (P.O.W.E.R.)
Thank you for entrusting me to lead our local during these times. I believe in strengthening our membership through education and unity. If there is a way I can be of assistance, please contact me.
